SENCo Leadership Programme

This programme will equip SENCOs to lead the improvement of inclusive practices across their settings. To further develop leadership skills in SENCos so that they are able to have more influence on further developing and improving inclusive practices across their setting.

Intended impact on practice:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the different leadership styles that can help influence practices within your setting.
  • Appreciate how the context of your setting should influence the provision on offer to learning.
  • Reflect on how the graduated approach works in your setting and what teachers do to support learners before sharing their concerns.
  • Develop person centred approaches in order to capture the voice of the learner and their family.
  •  Focus on steps to create high quality training to lead developments in T&L 
  • Understand how high-quality teaching can be further developed in your setting through their planning, actions and support.
  • Explore mentoring and coaching to support sustainable development. 

Intended impact on pupil outcomes:

  • Effective SEND Leadership supports inclusive access to education for all 

Intended outcomes for disadvantaged pupils:

  • Further developments in High Quality teaching will impact on the engagement and progress of disadvantaged pupils.
