This event will allow schools that have implemented Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised as their systematic synthetic phonics (SSP) programmes this year to continue to discuss how they have implemented it in their school. This will provide an opportunity to celebrate success and share good practice as well as discuss some of the issues that may have arisen and problem solve amongst the group. The group will build on the Autumn network event with more problem-solving tips. The Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised is just one of a number of validated SSPs schools can adopt. SAfE is pleased to support schools with this network, but does not endorse one SSP over another of the DfE validated programmes.
Intended impact on practice:
Primary English, Phonics, Reading Leaders will be able to learn from other schools to ensure implementation of the SSP is successful and that teachers are trained as expert teachers of phonics.
Intended impact on pupil outcomes:
Improved pupil outcomes in phonics in reading because of effective roll out of the SSP
Intended outcomes for disadvantaged pupils:
Effective implementation of the SSP should ensure all pupils achieve
